COTR Guild Charter
This Charter and all parts thereof are a living document. As such they are subject to periodic revision to better reflect the needs and desires of the guild membership. This revision of the Charter contains additions from other members and information selected from other existing Guild Charters to help form the foundation of whom we truly are.
FUN: EverQuest is a game and it's important to have fun in any game. There are so many things to do in EverQuest, so many things to see, and so many people to meet. We enjoy doing all these things and generally find it fun to do them with friends. So, each member must have fun...no exceptions! KINDNESS: Being kind to others is another way of having fun playing EverQuest. We are people who like to feel the joy of giving and when we play the game, ALL members are equal.
CONDUCT SPECIFIC GUIDELINES
There will always be a few that do not follow the spirit and intent of a general guideline, for those among us we have added in these specific guidelines to lend clarity. This is also helpful to read if you did not fully understand the general guidelines. Any and all of the following may result in guild reprimand or worse. Certainly habitually performing these actions will result in being removed from Champions of the Round.
Kill Stealing is not accepted. Do Not Kill Steal! If you are purposely taking someone else's kill when you know you don't deserve and didn't earn it, you are kill stealing, and it is a bad player trait. As our purpose is to develop good players with excellent reputations, this obviously goes against the grain. Each time you do this or any of the other negative action it stains your character and the reputation of the guild, at least a little bit. We do not wish to be known as a guild of kill stealers.
Training is not accepted. We do not intentionally "train" others, if you do not know what this means then you are probably not guilty of doing it. Training is the act of gathering mobs into a quote "train" and leading them across another individual or group, often resulting in their demise. At times you will have more mobs then you can handle. Acceptable behavior would be to /shout or /ooc "TRAIN TO XXX ZONE" or "TRAIN TO XXX GUARDS". This lets people in that vicinity prepare themselves or vacate that area. When enroute to your escape point, use due diligence to lead your train around groups and individuals so they do not draw the mobs attention.
We do not beg. EVER! Begging is more than just asking for coins. It can include asking for equipment, scamming for free gear (by hiding good gear in the bank and then begging for any gear to help you), repeatedly asking the same person for Teleports, Buffs, Resurrections, Assistance on a corpse recovery etc. The rule of thumb is it is ok to ask once, but if they say no that is it, find someone else or deal with the situation in another way. Also please do not overuse /shout or /ooc for this. If you get no response in a zone after 5 requests, stop asking for at least a bit.
Habitual looting is a poor character trait showing greed. Do not take all the groups loot. In Champions of the Round we like for all members to share loot with their group mates. Our favorite method of loot distribution is /autosplit on (for coins), alphabetical roster to loot kills and /random 100 roll for the really good loot items. Not all parties or members wish to loot. Ask when you join a group what their looting system is, if they don't have one then suggest ours. Otherwise you may find that some members of the group are getting most of the loot and others are left out. In no case are you to be the person looting all (or even most) of the kills, unless all other members have declared they have no wish to loot.
